I was reading instructions, and it looks as though I need to clean and prepare my floor before I can put down any product. In order for me to clean and prepare my floor, I need to clear my floor of everything! Where would I put it??

Last time I had an entry, you saw the framework of my future temporary garage. Here, I was able to recruit the help of my wife and some college students to help cover the framework with tarp material. I needed the assistance because, to put this into perspective, my temporary shelter is 71 feet long by 10 feet wide by 9 feet high. This will only hold about 2/3 of the contents of the garage section that I am working on. The other 1/3 is dispersed through the other portions of my garage while the floors get cleaned, degreased, and finished. When the first section is finished, the process is repeated until the 3,500 square foot barn is completed.

When working on the floors, temperature and weather are important, and we are supposed to get snow again in 2 days. This evening, a good rain storm is testing my temporary shelter.

Please note that I titled this post "Preparation - Part 1". There will be various parts of preparation. This part involves moving and storing the contents of my garage. Soon we move on to preparing the surface for the garage floor coating. There are multiple steps in preparation.

Any Auto-Body professional will tell you that the best paint job happens because of the work it took to prepare the surface that the paint is on. I would expect the same to be true with Rust-Oleum's "RockSolid Garage Floor Coating". I will attempt with my best efforts to prepare the surface and apply the "RockSolid Garage Floor Coating" properly.

I am not a pro, and this is my first time ever doing anything like this. I hope to post videos, as soon as I figure out how to record in a compatible file type. Stay tuned as I wait for the weather to warm up a bit.
