(Click on this photo to see more Photos and content about this process) So here is Part 2 of my Preparation. I like to look at it as "The Devil is in the Details". This one is a long one, so brace yourself and try to follow along.

In the first few photos, the garage is being cleared of remaining contents. I have a couple friends, my wife, and my kids assisting me to get an oil absorbing "kitty litter" on to the ground to soak up some of the big oil spots, and then just a decent sweep out of the garage. The garage bathroom also shares a common floor with the garage, so it will also be refinished while the rest of the garage floors are being refinished.

I do not frequently have everything out of my garage (or even everything out of this section of my garage), and I was thinking... I will soon have the floors "shining like new", but there are areas around the garage that are a bit dingy. I thought I would brighten the room up with a fresh coat of paint.

I went to a well know "paint only specialty store" which shall remain nameless (where I originally obtained the paint color selection used in my garage) and found that the price of paint went up to $98 per gallon!! I thought to myself that I would like to look around for a more economical option to make my garage look nice, so I went to my local Wal-Mart, and found that Rust-Oleum offers "Studio Color" paint at a fraction of the cost of the "paint only specialty store".

You may see in the photo that the paint label say ""Studio Color Exterior"... Due to supply chain issues at my Wal-Mart, I found that as a beggar, I cannot afford to be a "chooser" on interior versus exterior paints. So, knowing the extra ventilation requirements, I grabbed the paint that was available and that could be mixed into the colors that I wanted, and got started.

My oldest daughter was removing the outlet covers and masking the outlets, as my wife was stripping the walls of their decorations, I showed my youngest daughter how I would like her to operate the foam roller to paint the marred door trim and wall stripes, and I let her loose to the rest of the garage bay. While the garage was being repainted, the bathroom was repainted, too.

Soon, the entire area will be repainted! I hope we can obtain enough material to paint the rest of the garage! (if Wal-Mart has enough or can get more base that can be tinted to our colors)
