Rust-Oleum sponsors "24 Hours of Lemons" race! 🏎️ πŸ‹

πŸ‹ 24 Hours of Lemons is an endurance racing series for cars that cost $500 or less. πŸ‹

The name is a play on the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, but with a humorous twist, emphasizing the low-budget, often beat-up "lemons" (junk cars) that compete. Participants must purchase a car and track prep it for $500 or less (not including safety equipment, brakes, and wheels/tires).

The event is a mix of motorsport and comedy, where creativity and fun are just as important as racing skills. Teams are encouraged to decorate their cars in outrageous ways, and the atmosphere is more about camaraderie and entertainment than serious competition.

Rust-Oleum products including Stops Rust Turbo and Custom Spray 5-in-1 are often used by teams to creatively customize their cars. Given the rough conditions these cars endure during the race, Rust-Oleum's protective coatings are essential for maintaining and extending the life of these vehicles, even in such extreme environments.

The 2024 Rust-Oleum Spray & Slay race kicks off in Elkhart Lake, WI from Sept. 7-8.
