Question from @Brinkley563SS: Do you guys have any locations in Iowa I can apply to work at?
Answer from @Lorena:
Yes, we have a production facility for our Whink products in Eldora, IA.
Question from @lrajkovich: I just bought a home that is several years old and am looking to coat the garage floor with Rust-Oleum's RockSolid garage floor coating. What prep work did you do to prepare a well used but not oily garage floor? Thanks in advance!!
Answer from the HPC (High Performance Coatings) team:
First determine the current state of the concrete. Is it bare OR previously sealed/coated? To determine, drip a small amount of water onto floor. If the water beads, a sealer is present. If not, follow the bare concrete steps.
Preparation Steps & Products Recommended:
Bare Concrete:
1) Check for moisture - Rust-Oleum Moisture Stop
2) Clean Degrease - Rust-Oleum Cleaner & Degreaser
3) Etch – Included in Garage Kit
4) Patch & Repair - Rust-Oleum Concrete Patch & Repair or Rust-Oleum Fast Patch (may have to spend more time in the patch step depending on the condition).
5) Apply RockSolid Garage Floor Coating
Sealed, Painted or Coated Concrete:
1) Clean Degrease - Rust-Oleum Cleaner & Degreaser
2) Patch & Repair - Rust-Oleum Concrete Patch & Repair or Rust-Oleum Fast Patch (may have to spend more time in the patch step depending on the condition).
3) Recoat Primer - Rust-Oleum Recoat Primer This product allows you to coat the surface without having to sand or grind the floor.
4) Apply RockSolid Garage Floor Coating
A great video is available online as well for the whole project:
**Note: If the garage is crumbling or beyond repair, we do not recommend coating it.**
