This past week, Rust-Oleum opened its doors to the public for this first-ever Rust-Oleum Yard Sale, a unique event that brought together associates, community members and DIY enthusiasts. Nearly 100 items, including tables, chairs, dressers, cabinets, wall art, and decorations, were on display, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of Rust-Oleum’s social media teams.
Among the standout pieces were a custom wood Tic Tac Toe board, a large wood table and bench set, and the transformed metal chair featured in Rust-Oleum's WGN Daytime Chicago segment. Rust-Oleum’s DIY experts were also on hand to demonstrate how simple techniques can turn secondhand finds into stunning statement pieces.
The event wasn't just about finding new homes for these treasures—it was also about giving back. Rust-Oleum committed to “spray it forward” by donating proceeds from the one-day event to the Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation .
Thanks to the incredible turnout and support, the sale generated $2,134, which, combined with the match from Rust-Oleum Cares, brought the total donation to $4,268.
The success of the RO Yard Sale was a true cross-functional team effort, and the event provided an exciting opportunity for the community to learn more about Rust-Oleum’s offerings and expertise.
