Today we're sitting down with Rusto Garage member @Luggnutt, who joined the community this spring πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

What brought you to Rusto Garage?

I believe I was on Facebook when I first got wind of Rusto Garage. I did not know Rust-Oleum produced car care products and it got my attention. I use the Rust-Oleum paints and primers when I want a good finished product so I figured I'd check it out.

What’s your favourite part of this online community?

When I went to the Rusto Garage site it was easy to get hooked. I love all things automotive, and enjoy others who share the same passion. Definitely felt welcome.

How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger?

I was a mechanic for a large city police department for 30 years. Those guys and gals can break things that no one else can! Lol. I retired about 10 years ago, but still do a lot of automotive work.

What automotive projects do you like to focus on?

Currently, well on and off I should say, and more off than on, I have been working on a 53 Ford F100 for years now. I have taken the body off the frame, and done some body work. Interestingly enough, I have been keeping it very low budget and painting and priming with none other than Rust-Oleum products. Another reason I checked out Rusto Garage. I plan for it to look a little between Rat rod and just a rough ol truck but be very drivable. I have an 07 Crown Victoria police package chassis with the modern steering and suspension that my pick-up body will set down on, or that's the plan anyway.

[see photo carousel above for lots of great photos from this project!]

What’s the most challenging project you have tackled (or are putting off!)?

Seems never enough time to devote to one project, my wife and I are always busy with our house and pool, building decks, walkways etc. But having a lot to do means I can always stay busy.

Kicking back for a relaxing night: what’s your favorite meal? What will you be watching?

At night I usually like to set back in front of the TV and watch some of the car shows on Motor Trend network. See how the pros do it.

Thanks for spending some time with us @Luggnutt πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
