Spraying Rust-Oleum Enamel Paint

Submitted to Product Talk

One of the reasons I originally joined this forum was to see what others did with Rust-Oleum products. I've been a fan of its spray paints, and learned that the paint in quart cans can be thinned enough to spray through a paint gun.

Case in point is my 40 year old tool cabinet. It has served me well, but is showing its age. I bought a larger box (a guy needs more tools), but decided to donate my old box to a friend in need. After a quick sanding to remove spilled paint and decals, I mixed the gloss blue paint (4 parts paint, 1 part acetone) and ran it through my 1.7 tip gun. I have used a 1.4 tip Harbor Freight gun in the past with good success as well.

I'm happy with the result, and think my friend will be too.

Edit: I used less than 1/2 quart of the Glossy Royal Blue Enamel paint.
