1954 Buick, a pleasant distraction

Submitted to Show Off

Last season, I purchased a 1954 Buick Special. It ran, drove, passed New York State Inspection, but has been neglected over the past few years. As you may see, the paint had blistered, flaked, and started to rust. Since this is a driver car, I am looking to make it better while I enjoy the car, so that means repair one panel at a time. I found a Rust-Oleum color that is close to the top color on the shelf of my local Wal-Mart, so I think we will start with that.

Because the paint cracked and flaked right to the metal, each panel will need to be stripped to bare metal, then primed and painted.

The roof was painted with Rust-Oleum's Laurel Green, and I think it turned out excellent!!

I hope that the Dark Green Color that we had an opportunity to name last season becomes available. I would love to paint the rest of the Buick with That Rust-Oleum Paint. (if you know where I can find it, please let me know). You can get Excellent and professional results on your vehicles with Rust-Oleum!
