BMW's iX Color Changing Flow E-Ink, What do you think?

The Future is Now!

BMW has created a way to personalize your ride to fit your style or function.

This new technology is called E-Ink.
Have you ever seen a Kindle screen? The way it changes from white to black somehow?

The ink is suspended in a small amount of fluid in a tiny microscopic capsule. When an electric charge is sent to the capsules the inks inside shift to either the positive state (white color) or negative state (black color).
Great way to help with UV rays as you can change the paint to white and reflect all those nasty sun rays or when its cloudy and gloomy out you can change to black to absorb as much heat as possible.

I have my feeling on this which might be a bit bias due to the fact that I too have created color changing paint, but I developed it using Electroluminescent Paint which is a different technology that works with light.

Check out this Jay Leno video as he goes through the BMW iX Flow with E-Ink and let us know what you think in the comments. Thanks!

Enjoy!
