I started this part back in the end of the winter season. Although I have the first bay restocked with vehicles and other miscellaneous stuff, it is time to start preparing the next bay. As you may have noticed, I have a LOT of stuff! I wanted this bay to look more presentable than just a place to store "junk". My goal for this part of the garage is to finish off the ceiling, paint the ceiling, walls and shelving, and then refinish the floors.

In order to accomplish my goals for this section of garage, I needed to make the bay open enough to work. This requires me to set up the storage tents again. During the early spring, I set up the tents, and then a VERY strong wind came up with our soft spring ground, and destroyed my 5 storage tents. Time to get some more!

This time around, I think I need more storage space. So I bought a few additional tents. I'm at 8 - 10'x17' storage tents at the moment, with room to assemble a couple more. Here is the tedious part - time to move everything into the tents and clear out the excess!

To help clear out the excess, I sold my 1934 Graham, which opened a "slot" in my slot puzzle of a garage. (actually, I bought 2 more parts cars since I sold the Graham, so I'll work on those later). I am trying to use materials that I have lying around, so I am finishing the ceiling with plywood. My hope is to use materials that I have on hand to help clean the garage as I go.

Now, you may have wondered, "what's taking so long?" First, I have a LOT of stuff. Stuff to sort, Stuff to keep, Stuff to throw away, and all of it needs to move. Also, I have a family. My kids are active, and I don't want to miss any of their accomplishments. And finally, sometimes life just gets in the way. Helping out the community, friendly distractions, medical issues, etc. A few distractions that I shared with earlier posts include: building a Model T Ford for a production of "RagTime", buying a running chassis to eventually make the "RagTime" Model T into a roadworthy car, and cleaning up a 1954 Buick. Knocking out those tasks, and having summer vacation should provide a little more concentrated time to keep things moving along.
