National Cleaning Week '23, Happening right NOW!

Submitted to Blog

National Cleaning Week is not only for your home or office but it is also for your trusty vehicle too and it's happening right now!

March 26- April 1 is National Cleaning Week this year. Lets see pics of your BEFORE and AFTER cleaning!

Many of us focus on our home and office since that's where we spend most of our time, but your vehicle needs refreshed too. After long cold months it feels good to put away your winter essentials and give your car a fresh start.  Although it can look like too much to handle all at once it can be best to break up the tasks into days (since it's all week). Declutter one day, Interior another day, etc.

Cleaning your vehicle can actually be healthy for you too. When you start moving and bending and stretching to clean your heart rate naturally goes up which in turn gives you a nice little workout while you clean. So forget the gym today, just clean your car!

Not your cup of tea, well if your situation allows and it's better/safer for you then hiring a company to detail your car won’t be a bad idea either.

There are lots of ways to make it enjoyable or get others involved to make it fun, a family thing, or just someone else there to pass the time. You can get your kids involved as a great learning experience or do a couples session. Maybe you and yours have a favorite playlist you can turn on or maybe you're both competitive where it becomes a race or challenge. Either way you can make it fun so the job gets done!

Areas to concentrate on will be the areas that take the most beating from day to day. These areas are also the most prone to bacteria and germs.

  • Carpets
  • Seats
  • Door handles
  • Steering wheel
  • Cup holders

These areas are all a good place to start. Especially when doing the carpets and seats if they are fabric make sure to shampoo them (if possible). There could be possible health risks from breathing in mold or bacteria that your carpets or seats may have if old and gone untreated.

Having a professional company shampoo the carpets and/or seats could be a good route if this is an area that is unfamiliar to you. Damage could occur to the car or you if equipment and/or materials are not used correctly. Once again, make it fun so it gets done!

Also, make sure to concentrate on the areas that get you to where you need to be and mainly just inspect these areas for wear and tear and if they need to be replaced.

  • Engine Hoses/ wires/ belts
  • Tires
  • Oil
  • Wiper blades
  • Light Bulbs
  • Filters

However you decide on how to participate in National Cleaning Week this week let us know if you have a specific routine or tricks of the trade to make it less intimidating.

Don't forget to show your BEFORE and AFTER pics!
